Join the men from the Brookfield parishes (St. John Vianney and St. Dominic) for three days of rest and prayer at the beautiful Jesuit Retreat House (JRH) on Lake Winnebago in Oshkosh. The JRH has been conducting retreats there for over 60 years and the men of Brookfield have been going consistently for about 20 years. I would like the men of Waukesha to start making this an annual event as well. You might already know someone who goes on retreat there from those parishes.
The retreat begins with dinner at 7 pm on Thursday evening and concludes after lunch on Sunday. There is daily Mass, the opportunity for the sacrament of Reconciliation, a healing service, Rosary, Way-of-the-Cross, and plenty of time for personal prayer, spiritual direction, rest, and relaxation. For the majority of the time, it is a silent retreat; which lends itself well to prayer and reflection. Each retreatant's room includes a full-size bed and private bathroom. All meals are provided, with snacks, coffee, tea, etc. available in between.
The JRH mission is to foster spiritual enrichment rooted in the Gospels, the Catholic Tradition, and the spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. All faith traditions are welcome to attend this retreat. There is a scholarship fund to assist anyone who may not be able to afford the full cost of the retreat. Also, Catholic Financial encourages annual retreats and will reimburse up to $100 for it's financial members.
