Catholic Community of Waukesha

Men's Small Faith Group

This group was started many years ago during the Advent season by a few men who wanted to do more to develop their ‘spirituality.’ Today there are about fifteen ‘regulars’ who come and go each week based on their work and travel schedules. Within today’s group there are IT guys, a translator, engineers, retirees, guys in the banking and insurance fields, a professional trainer, a geologist, a biologist, a buyer, guys in sales and marketing (and they get along!) and a guy who is a director at a large social agency. We even have a snow bird that stops in when he is back in Waukesha for the summer. Along with this Small Faith Group – the guys will occasionally put their faith into action during the year by getting together for service projects within the community.

They arrive between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday mornings. During that time they hang out in the Vercelli House open area, drink coffee, catch up on families, sports, politics, jobs, etc.  At 6:30 a.m. they convene to one of the rooms in the Vercelli House where they read the readings and Gospel for the upcoming week and discuss them. At 7:30 a.m. they wrap with the Our Father and head off to their jobs.
